It all started with salad dressing.

Tired of messes and rusty lids, Karen was looking for a solution to shake, pour, and store homemade dressings directly from a Mason jar. When she couldn’t find one, she invented The Original reCAP. The Original reCAP Pour gave rise to a new company, where Karen and the team live and breathe all things Mason jars. Original Kickstarter campaign.

Our passion for a better world put the “re” in reCAP – Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle.
Inspired by a personal goal of zero-waste, Karen was passionate about bringing reCAP to life – in the hopes the cap would make Mason jars more useful and have a positive environmental impact. The best way to reduce waste is to not create it in the first place.

American-Made & Erie-Strong: Raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, Karen’s vision for reCAP is to keep it local and strengthen her hometown community. Not just Made in the USA, reCAP’s entire supply chain is within a 100 mile radius.
